Weird thing... see's the nic and sets it up with no problem. My ZyXEL X-550 router gives it an IP and I can browse and access local workgroup PC's and I can even ping places like www.yahoo.com from the DOS prompt but when I open IE I can't get to any sites...anybody have this problem or have any ideas on this? I've tried everything I can think of at this point... static IP, DHCP, IP, turning off firewall, etc....

vista 2 - no internet...
Try using a direct modem connection - from computer to the phone line, and see if that works. Then, you'll know whether it's the router or in fact Vista :o)

Got it figured out.... seems Vista doesn't like SPI enabled on the router end. If I disable SPI in the router it works. Definetly a Vista thing as other XP machines on my network don't have that issue...
